Inter-House Sports Competition turns bloody in Ondo, Student Shot Dead, Several Injured

The annual Inter-House Sports of Agolo High School Ikare-Akoko in Akoko North-East local government area of Ondo state began with joy enthusiasm as students competed peacefully.
It however reportedly ended in a bloodshed Thursday evening.
Naijaparrots gathered that secondary school students from various parts of Akokoland in the northern part of the state attended the annual fiesta with many old students in attendance.
Reports had it that “Suddenly gunshots were heard which led to death of a student while two others seriously wounded are now receiving medical attention in an undisclosed hospital”.
“After the unfortunate incident, there was panic and apprehension in Ikare- Akoko as parents were running helter skelter to ensure the safety of their children.
Efforts to speak with either the principal of the school or the games master to know what led to the incident proved abortive as at the time of this report.
The Divisional Police Officer in Ikare Akoko, SP Olatujoye Akinwande confirmed the incident, saying the dead student has been deposited at a mortuary while the those sustained injuries were receiving treatment.
