INTERIOR MINISTER TUNJI-OJO URGES TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS ON SKILL ACQUISITION FOR YOUTH ENGAGEMENT
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has emphasized significance of skill acquisition in achieving youth engagement.
The Minister was speaking while playing host to the management team of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, led by the Acting Rector, Olorunwa Adegun in Abuja.
The platform created opportunities to discuss the role of tertiary institutions in the empowerment of our teeming youths and creation of wealth.
During the meeting, the hon minister emphasized the significance of prioritizing the acquisition of practical skills over solely relying on academic certificates.
In his words, “As the world is constantly changing, we must brace up to evolve with the dynamics. Our academic institutions through their research and development framework must come up with innovative ideas that are creative and competitive enough on the global scene”.
