An Ekiti-born entrepreneur and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Dele Philips has called on the youths to think outside the box towards occupying their pride of place in the socio-economic and political space in the country.
Dele Philips who spoke in a statement signed by his media aide, Iyiola Adetola and made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti emphasised that it is high time the youths realised that they should also be key players in the economic and political sectors of the economy.
While noting that opportunities abound in the area of information technology, the business mogul advised that the legal aspects could play significant roles in creating a new orientation for the future leaders.
Speaking on the theme for this year’s commemoration of the International Youth Day, ‘From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development”, the Aramoko-Ekiti-born politician and philanthropist
stressed that employment of artificial intelligence would also go a long way in facilitating the much needed advancement.
Dele Philips used the occasion to urge the youths to shun social vices, drugs and other acts capable of tarnishing their image and that of their family and the nation in general.

International Youth Day is commemorated every year on 12 August, bringing youth issues to the attention of the international community and celebrating the potential of youth as partners in today’s global society.
