
INT’L DAY OF THE BOY-CHILD: DELE PHILIPS FOUNDATION URGES ACTION TO SUPPORT BOYS’ WELL-BEING
…As Founder calls for creation of more inclusive environment where boys can thrive
The Dele Philips Foundation has joined the global community in commemorating this year’s International Day of the Boy-Child.
In a statement signed by the Spokesman, Seun Adetola and made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the Director of Administration of the organisation, Aare Ebenezer Adebusuyi said setting aside a day to create awareness about the existence of the boy-child would go a long way in preparing them for the future.
Aare Adebusuyi who is also Senior Special Assistant to Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Internal Relations said the boy-child should be guided and propelled for the future challenges.
The Director of Administration who also served as council boss in Ekameta LCDA said the Dele Philips Foundation is already working with relevant partners to ensure that the upcoming generations are guided.
Aare Adebusuyi expressed the hope that raising awareness about the unique challenges boys face would promote their well-being and positive development.
“It’s a day to highlight the importance of supporting boys’ education, health, and emotional well-being and to celebrate the positive contributions they make to their communities and families”.
In his remarks, the founder of the Foundation, Mr. Dele Phillips also said The International Day of the Boy Child would highlight their role in shaping a more just and equitable society.
Philips who is also the Vice Chairman of Asiwaju Mandate Group in Ekiti State stated that the commemoration is a reminder to prioritize the needs of boys and to address the issues that may hinder their growth and development.
The All Progressives Congress Chieftain used the medium to urge relevant stakeholders to come together to encourage individuals, communities, and organizations to take action to support boys’ well-being and create a more inclusive environment where they can thrive.
