
LATE MADAM JANET OLUWAFUNMILAYO AKINOLA’S BURIAL RITES CONTINUE WITH CULTURAL DANCE IN ADO-EKITI
The burial rites of Late Madam Janet Oluwafunmilayo Akinola has continued at her Egbewa residence in Ado-Ekiti with cultural dance.
The events witnessed by family members as well as friends and well wishers was in continuation of the various programmes lined up to give the late trader and community leader a befitting home-going.
The reflection of the songs by late Ekiti music icon, Chief Elemure Ogunyemi was laced with dance steps that could make an average Ekiti indigene want to visit his ancestral home.
The children, Banji Akinola popularly known as’Ameme Super’ and Buckie Akinola were on hand to receive guests while they also danced with ‘irukere’ to the tunes from the various songs of the late Ekiti music icon, Chief Elemure Ogunyemi.
In an interview with Naijaparrots reporter, James Makinde, one of the children, Banji Akinola said it has been a daily affair since their mother died, considering her position in the family as well as the society.
Banji Akinola popularly known as ‘Ameme Super’ stated that the Family had met and had decided to ensure that their Matriarch is honoured even in death.
