LG ELECTION: AKURE SOUTH APC POSTPONES CAMPAIGNS IN HONOUR OF LATE SSG AS FASUA PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO FAMILY
The All Progressives Congress in Akure South local government has officially postponed its campaign to honour the Late Secretary to Ondo State Government, Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi a.k.a Tuykana.
The party in the local government area also declared a day of mourning and prayer for both the family and the Akure kingdom in general.
This was as the Chairmanship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress for Akure South Local Government in the January local government election paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi in Akure.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the visit, Dr. Gbenga Fasua said the visit was a necessary acknowledgement of the profound loss endured by their family and the community at large.
Hon. Fasua commended Oluwatuyi’s remarkable character, asserting that he was an embodiment of humility and a quintessential leader whose style of leadership is to be emulated.
Following this visit, Hon. Fasua convened with the campaign Director-General and announced the postponement of the Akure South Local Government campaign in honour of the Late Secretary to State Government.
He emphasized that all campaign communication will be managed through proper channels until further notice.
Dr. Fasua expressed his heartfelt prayers for the family, asking that God provides them with the strength to withstand the significant loss and grant Hon. Tuykana eternal rest.
In his words, “I’m in pains, Death is something inevitable. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace. I believe you have made that effort and that is, therefore, why you will sleep for the eternity”.
“We’ll meet again. Don’t know where don’t know when, but I know we’ll meet again, some sunny day. “Life is pleasant, death is peaceful. It’s the transition that’s troublesome”.
“Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.Tuykana, Death is not extinguishing the light; it is only putting out the lamp because the dawn has come. Sun re ooo!!”
“A thousand words won’t bring you back, I know because I’ve tried; neither will a thousand tears, I know because I’ve cried.
Goodnight”, Fasua added.
