
The Light in the Darkness Ministry in Akure the Ondo State capital has rolled out various programmes to mark the 10th anniversary of the church.
The programmes of events include Marriage Seminar, Power Night, Praise Night, Sports Competition, Mass Outreach Crusade, Recognition Service, special day for the teens and youths, Variety Day as well as Thanksgiving Service to round off all activities.
According to the Chairman of the planning committee, Mr. Rotimi Akinlosotu, the events had kicked off with Sunrise Prayers involving 21 days of fasting and prayer slated to commence from December 31st to January 20th.
“Apart from the Variety Day billed for Monday, January 9th with special features like cultural dances, drama presentations and special renditions, a Recognition Service will hold on Tuesday, January 10th by 4.00pm”, Akinlosotu said.
He stressed that “we shall hold a Mass Outreach Crusade at Aaye in Ifedore local government area on Thursday January 12th to Saturday 14th while Concert is slated for Sunday January 15th. Our team of Evangelists from across the country would also be at Oda in Akure South Local Government Area as well as Igoba in Akure North local government area for special revival programmes”.
“In the spirit of ensuring that we have a robust future leaders, our spiritual fathers and mothers, Revd. and Revd.(Mrs) Ajibola Fagboyegun have designed a special programme for the teens and youths with the theme, “Future Generation” for Wednesday, January 18th by 4.00pm while sports competition would hold on Saturday January 21st by noon”, the planning committee Chairman added.
He explained that the grand finale would be held on Sunday, January 22nd at the Church Auditorium, Opposite Orange FM Station, Shagari Village, Irese Road, Akure, Ondo State.
In a chat with newsmen, the Founder, Revd. Ajibola Fagboyegun said the 10th anniversary is a platform to appreciate God for what He has been doing in the fold, emphasising the various miraculous Interventions and uplift being witnessed among members and the congregation as a whole.
In his words, “we came up with this church to show our people that God is on the throne and He has never disappointed us. For those who know how we started, they will attest to His Impact on our members and we shall continue to be proud of serving in the vineyard”.
He assured that structures and processes have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free celebration as all the required logistics have been put in place to ensure security of lives and property while provisions have been made for enabling and conducive environment for all members and people coming to celebrate with the church.
“We didn’t start this on our own but on God’s instructions and we are glad that He has been presiding as we see ourselves only as caretakers and that is why we are confident of greater heights in the Lord”, Revd. Ajibola added.
Also in an interview, the Shepherd-in-Charge, Revd.(Mrs) Adeola Fagboyegun said the Light in the Darkness Ministry has justified its place in winning souls for God while salvation has always been the priority of the church.
She advised members of public to key into the structures and processes put in place to appreciate God for His Impact on the members and lovers on the church.
