A young man from Ekiti State has been arrested by the police after allegedly breaking into a church’s vault in Ikeji-Arakeji in Osun State.
He was reportedly apprehended by police officers while traveling between Igbara-Odo and Akure on a motorcycle.
According to sources, he was stopped by the officers on patrol who inquired to know the content of a school bag he was carrying.
“On Friday, 16/9/22, at about 0430 hrs ,one Mr Opeyemi Oluwafemi, of Iropora Ekiti was arrested by policemen conducting stop and search along Igbara Odo-Ekiri -Akure road, riding a Bajaj motor cycle with Reg No Tun 560 UC carrying a school bag”
“When searched, it was discovered that the bag was full of different denomination of naira notes which he could not give account and the actual amount”.
“On further interrogation, he confessed to have broken into the offerings vault of C.A.C Church at Ikeji Arakeji in Osun State and stole the money”, the source added.
Reports say after counting, the sum of ₦620,115=00k was recovered from the suspect.
