…As Agency’s Director-General plays host to Olori Olubaka, Adejumoke Adeleye
The Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) Dr. Matthew Adepoju has reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with traditional institutions to drive development across the country.
Dr. Adepoju, while speaking during a courtesy visit by Olori Adejumoke Adeleye, wife of the paramount ruler and prescribed authority of Oka Akoko, Oba Adebori Adeleye, emphasized the importance of fostering collaborations with traditional institutions to promote the understanding and application of space technology across all sectors.
While acknowledging the visit of the Olori Olubaka with profound gratitude, the NASRDA Boss emphasized the importance of a supportive spouse, saying the Olubaka made a good choice of a better half which reflects in his outstanding achievements and accomplishments as a first Class Oba in an intellectual community like Ondo State.
According to a statement signed by a Senior Press Officer in Media and Corporate Communications of the Agency, Joy Opaluwa, Dr Adepoju further praised Olori Adejumoke Adeleye as a personality of great repute, adding that NASRDA was indeed honored by her historic visit.
He noted the significant contributions of illustrious sons of Oka Akoko, such as Professor Ajayi Boroffice, Dr. Felix Ale among others to the growth and advancement of Nigeria’s space program.
According to him, their achievements are a reflection of the strength and influence of the great people of Oka – Akoko, particularly the Oka traditional institution, led by His Royal Majesty, the Olubaka of Okaland.
Dr Adepoju reiterated NASRDA’s support for the proposed bill championed by Senator Ajayi Boroffice for the establishment of the Federal University of Aeronautics at Oka-Akoko.
He emphasized the Agency’s commitment to advocating for the realization of the project, which aims to further enhance Nigeria’s capacity in aeronautics and space science.
The NASRDA boss said the courtesy visit symbolizes a bridge between traditional heritage and modern innovation, for national growth.
In her remarks, wife of the Olubaka of Oka Akoko, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, Olori Adejumoke Adeleye congratulated the Director General of NASRDA, on his remarkable achievements since assumption of office.
She noted that the Olubaka and the people of Oka Akoko have a deep interest in NASRDA due to its strategic role in driving national development through space science and technology.
The Olori commended Dr. Adepoju for his groundbreaking efforts in restoring the Agency’s glory and inspiring the younger generation to embrace space innovation.
She also expressed gratitude to the management and staff of NASRDA for their dedication, wishing them a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
In his contribution, the Director of Media and Corporate Communications at NASRDA, Dr. Felix Ale, expressed gratitude to the Director General for hosting the Olori of Oka Akoko and acknowledged the Olubaka’s keen interest in Nigeria’s space program.
He described the Olori as a quintessential woman and the engine room of the Olubaka Palace, commending her for the impactful visit.
Dr. Ale also extended congratulations to the Olubaka on behalf of the Director General on the recent celebration of the 50th anniversary of His royal Majesty’s remarkable achievements at the Nigerian Bar as a distinguished lawyer and legal practitioner before ascending the throne.
The NASRDA’s spokesperson also congratulated the Olori for a well coordinated Christmas Carol and Children’s party which has been described as first of its kind in the history of the ancient community.
