NASRDA SPOKESMAN, DR FELIX ALE LOSES FATHER IN-LAW IN ONDO CITY
A Media Scholar, Communication Strategist and Director Media and Corporate Communications, National Space Research and Development Agency of Nigeria (NASRDA), Dr Felix Ale has lost his father in- law, Chief Fred Ojo Akinpelumi at the ancient town of Ondo, headquarters of Ondo west local government area of Ondo state.
Chief Akinpelumi who was the Executive Chairman of Ondo West Local Government Council between 2003 and 2007 died recently after a brief illness.
In a press statement, Dr Felix Ale described the death of his late father in-law as a great loss to the family, the Ekinmoguns, Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
He said, Chief Akinpelumi lived an exemplary life of decency and service to humanity and was indeed a beacon of knowledge, a guiding light in education, a very distinguished community leader, an eminent Nigerian and a stalwart of integrity in politics.
According to him, late Chief Akinpelumi’s journey through life was marked and driven by a profound love for learning, especially in the field of mathematics adding that his brilliance in this rare discipline was not just confined to his academic achievements at the graduate and post graduate levels but was generously shared with countless students across the country.
‘’As an educationist with a specialization in mathematics, Chief Fred Ojo Akinpelumi transformed the way his students viewed the subjects, turning numbers and equations into gateways and platforms to understanding the complex stages of life and the World itself. His passion was contagious and his students flourished under his tutelage”
Dr Ale maintained that as Principal of frontline secondary schools across the sunshine state, his father in-law was more than just an administrator, saying, he was a mentor, a role model, a pillar of support and household name in many schools and communities till date.
He emphaised that late Chief Akinpelumi’s various schools as teacher and school Principal were not just places of learning but communities where every individual felt valued, inspired and encouraged to reach their highest potentials.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Space Agency further explained that, as a distinguished politician and Executive Chairman of Ondo West Local Government Council, late chief Akinpelumi championed the causes that mattered most to his community and people of the council area during his tenure, always with same integrity and tenacity that marked his enviable career in education.
‘’He was a voice for the voiceless, a leader who understood that the power lies in service to humanity. His achievements in Ondo west local government and local government administration in Nigeria remained legendary and a reference point while his legacy in politics is one of honesty, compassion and firm commitment to the public good” Dr Ale declared.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Chief Fred Ojo Akinpelumi who until his death held the prestigious traditional title of BOBATOLU OF ONDO KINGDOM was a devoted Christain, community leader and family man.
His love for Christ, Ondo kingdom and his family was the cornerstone of his life.
Late chief Akinpelumi is survived by many children and grandchildren, among whom are Pastor Charles Dare Akinpelumi of the African Regional Centre for Basic Space Education, A Canada based education and management consultant, Mrs Foluke Olowokere, A Canada based financial expert, Mrs. Seto Opayemi and Mrs. Oluwayomi Lucia Ale who is a Deputy Director at the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja.
According to the burial plans, Late chief Fred Ojo Akinpelumi, the BOBATOLU OF ONDO KINGDOM will be laid to rest on Friday 3rd January 2025 after a funeral service at St Matthew Catholic Church, Ondo in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State where he remained one of the foremost leaders until his death.
