A very distinguished Media Practitioner and Scholar, Dr Felix Ale has described the achievements of his late father-in-law and Former Executive Chairman of Ondo West Local Government Council, Chief Fred Ojo Akinpelumi as an extraordinary legacy that has touched countless lives as well as inspiration for future generations.
In a special tribute to officially announce preparation for the final funeral ceremony for the deceased coming up at St Matthew Catholic Church, in Ondo city on Friday 3rd January 2025, Dr Felix Ale said Chief Fred Ojo Akinpelumi was not just a scholar but a first-class mathematician whose brilliance illuminated the path for many aspiring minds.
His love for mathematics according to the Media Scholar was not confined to the academic corridors but extended to every student he taught, saying, Chief Akinpelumi’s ability to make complex concepts accessible and engaging made him a revered figure in the world of education.
He said, as a Principal of many prestigious and frontline secondary schools, Chief Akinpelumi’s leadership transformed institutions into bastions of excellence while his students of whom many have gone on to achieve great heights across the globe are a testament to his dedication and passion for education.
Dr Ale maintained that “Beyond the classroom, Chief Fred Ojo Akinpelumi commitment to service led him into the realm of politics.
As the Executive Chairman of Ondo West Local Government Council under whom the current Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Honourable Lucky Aiyedatiwa once served as Head of Personnel Management, Akinpelumi’s service was marked by visionary leadership and transformative policies.
He championed development projects that improved the lives of the people he served, always guided by a sense of duty and integrity.
His ability to balance authority with compassion earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and constituent alike.”
The Oka Akoko born media Icon went further to explain that “In his spiritual life, chief Akinpekumi was a devout catholic whose faith was evident in every aspect of his life.
As a dedicated church leader, he served his Parish with unwavering commitment, guiding his community with wisdom and grace while his deep spirituality and moral integrity were the cornerstones of his character, influencing all who had the privilege of knowing him.
And at the heart of Chief Akinpelum’s life was his family. He was a wonderful father-in-law, a caring father and a supportive husband. His family was his pride and joy and he dedicated himself to their happiness and well-being.
His love and guidance have left an indelible mark on their lives, shaping them into the strong individuals they are today. He was indeed a pillar of strength, a source of wisdom and a constant source of love and support” Dr Ale declared.
The Director, Media and Corporate Communication of the National Space Research and Development Agency of Nigeria emphasized that Chief Akinpelumi’s impact extended far beyond his professional and personal achievements, pointing out that the deceased was a great community leader who tirelessly worked to uplift and unite his community.
According to him, Akinpelumi’s initiatives and efforts brought people together, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.
He said,Chief Akinpelumi’s legacy as a community leader and Bobatolu of Ondo Kingdom is one of compassion, service and unwavering dedication to the greater good.

Chief Fred Ojo Akinpelumi who was chairman of Ondo West Local Government Council between 2003 and 2007 as well as holder of prestigious title of Bobatolu of Ondo Kingdom till his death, will be laid to rest on Friday 3rd January, 2025 after a funeral service at the St Matthew Catholic Church, Oke Paadi, in Ondo city.
The funeral service which will be presided over by the Bishop of Ondo Catholic Diocese, Rt Reverend Jude Arogundade is expected to be attended by dignitaries from far and near.
