NIGER DELTA SPORTS FESTIVAL: EXPECT THE BEST SPORTS FIESTA – NDDC
Sehindemi Omoyoloye, an engineer in Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Ondo State Office says the planned Niger Delta Sports Festival (NDSF) is going to be one of its kind.
Omoyoloye said this while speaking with newsmen after a sensitization event by the Ondo State Liaison Committee of NDSF at the board room of Ondo State Sports Council, Akure.
The meeting had in attendance coaches, organising secretaries and Zonal Directors of Ondo State Sports Council as well as representatives of tertiary institutions, Director of School Sports in the education ministry among others.
The NDDC representative urged the attendees to do a thorough job in picking the best to ensure that Ondo State is well represented at the Festival.
He said “NDDC stands out for serious business and according to the notion of the MD/CEO, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, whatever is worth doing is worth doing well.”
Also Speaking at the event, Director of Research and Planning in Ondo State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development Kayode Akinwumi posited that the competition is for non-professional athletes from the nine Niger Delta states in the 16-25 years age bracket.
He said the competition seeks newbies urging the coaches to discover raw talents that will be useful for the state and country at large.
The maiden edition of Niger Delta Sports Festival is fixed for April 3 to 9, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
