…As Akure Branch of Ilutitun Development Union pays her a courtesy visit
The National Population Commission has called for an effective collaboration from socio-cultural organisations towards generating accurate data for the state.
The federal commissioner representing Ondo State in National Population Commission, Mrs Kemi Iyantan was playing host to the Akure Branch of Ilutitun Development Union led by a renowned journalist and community leader, Osewole Modupe in her office in Akure.
She said the task is a collective responsibility and charged leaders of various segments of the society to cooperate with the officials of the commission in achieving results.
The federal commissioner who noted that the mandate of the commission goes beyond population census said the target include registration of births and other responsibilities.
In her words, “we have registration centers across the state. We need to know how many we are and at the same time who we are”.
This will go a long way in providing a guide for the implementation of the Renewed Hope Initiative of President Bola Tinubu as well as the “Our Ease” agenda of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa”.
Mrs. Iyantan appreciated the leadership of the Akure Branch of Ilutitun Development Union for identifying with her and promised to justify the confidence reposed in her.
The General Secretary of the Union in Akure, Pastor Samuel Moyebi said the people of their area can attest to the capability of the federal commissioner to live up to expectations of government and the people.
He assured that the union will work with all relevant stakeholders at the grassroots level to ensure that the data generation is a success.
