NUJ HONOURS ONDO CONTRIBUTORY HEALTH COMMISSION DG, OYENEYIN WITH AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has honoured the Director-General, Ondo State Contributory Health Commission (ODCHC), Dr. Abiodun Oyeneyin, with the Award of Excellence as the Most Impactful Director-General of the Year 2025 in Ondo State.
The honour, which followed approval by the national leadership of the NUJ, recognises Dr. Oyeneyin’s outstanding contributions to health insurance administration, public service delivery, and institutional leadership within the state.
According to the Chairman of the NUJ, Ondo State Council, Prince Leke Adegbite, the award is anchored on the principles of truth, justice, integrity, and commitment to societal development, values the union holds sacrosanct in line with its constitutional role as the Fourth Estate of the Realm.
The union noted that Dr. Oyeneyin’s track record as a dependable manager of Ondo State’s health insurance scheme and a consummate public administrator has earned him wide public commendation. His leadership, the NUJ said, continues to strengthen access to quality healthcare, contributing significantly to the achievement of Universal Health Coverage in the state.
Speaking to newsmen, Dr. Oyeneyin, a public health physician, expressed profound appreciation to the Nigeria Union of Journalists for the honour, describing the award as a motivation to do more in advancing quality and affordable healthcare for the people of Ondo State.
He dedicated the recognition to the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his unwavering support, as well as to the management and staff of the ODCHC for their dedication and teamwork.
Dr. Oyeneyin reaffirmed his commitment to deepening health insurance coverage across the state, particularly among the workforce and the informal sector, while pledging continued commitment to Efficient Healthcare Delivery and Improved Socio-Economic Welfare, in line with the OUR EASE mandate of the present administration.
