OAU TO CONFER HONORARY DOCTOR OF SCIENCE ON ONDO-BORN ENERGY EXPERT, PROF ANTHONY ADEGBULUGBE

The Chairman of Green Energy International Limited, Pastor(Prof) Anthony Adegbulugbe is set to receive an honorary doctorate degree at the 48th convocation ceremony of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Professor Adegbulugbe who made history in the famous tertiary institution over four decades ago by graduating with CGPA of 5.0 over 5.0 is to be conferred with honourary Doctor of Science (Energy) (D.Sc), Honoris Causa by the University.
The event which is slated for Saturday December 14th, 2024 is also to witness conferment of honorary doctorate degrees on other distinguished personalities including Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Simeon Bamire said the Ondo-born energy expert, academic and entrepreneur Professor Anthony Adegbulugbe has demonstrated extraordinary generosity through the Springland Kids and Youth Foundation (SKY Foundation) and the Anthony and Afolake Adegbulugbe Foundation.
The Vice Chancellor stressed that the honorary award is to recognise significant contributions to humanity by uplifting the less privileged and advancing societal progress through their talents, financial resources, and material support.
Apart from humanitarian services, the outstanding academic has also contributed immensely to the oil and gas industry in Nigeria as achievements recorded have place Nigeria on global map.
His company, Green Energy International Limited (GEIL) has achieved many milestones, including operation of
Otakikpo Marginal Field which has achieved several notable accomplishments including
Modular LPG plant which is the first in the country.
This plant will help reduce gas flares and convert gas for domestic use and power generation. .
Green Energy has facilitated construction of an onshore terminal in partnership with Atlantic Terminal Infrastructure Ltd.
The terminal will be the first indigenous terminal infrastructure in the country and will provide an evacuation route for stranded oil fields in the Niger Delta.
It is also on record that GEIL secured approval for the second phase of development at the Otakikpo field, which includes drilling additional wells, expanding crude processing infrastructure, and building a 1.3 million barrel onshore terminal.
The company has implemented a Host Community Development Trust in three communities, including Rivers Host Community and Ikuru Host Community and has also ensured that its staff are drawn from the communities and the Niger Delta area.
And for the academic, entrepreneur and servant in the vineyard, Pastor(Prof) Anthony Adegbulugbe, the event would not only be a home-coming, having successfully set a record and also served in various capacities in the famous tertiary institution.
