Ondo State government has embarked on the process of constructing an International Business District at the premises of the present trade fair complex, Alagbaka in Akure the state capital.
Heavy equipment were mobilised to the location Thursday morning to Commence removal of structures in the complex.
Occupants of the various buildings have started removing their property to pave way for the demolition exercise.
Speaking with Naijaparrots, Commissioner for Lands and Infrastructure, Raimi Aminu said the occupants had earlier been given notice to vacate the premises.
He said structures being demolished are not occupied, noting that those occupying the buildings have being given some time to move their property.
Aminu said the Governor had given approval for the construction of high rise buildings as well as business concerns that will improve on the economy of the state.
The Commissioner added that the investors are waiting for the site to be cleared to enable them begin construction of projects that are capable of turning around the economy of the state and the people.
