ODSG READY TO PARTNER TEESAS EDUCATION FOR HIGH-TECH E-LEARNING PROGRAMME
The Ondo State Government has expressed its readiness to partner any reliable organization working towards enhancing the standard of education and quality of learners in the state through quality programmes.
Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Olaolu Akindolire, said the Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa’s administration in the state is in a hurry to turnaround the education sector and ensure that students across the state get nothing less than the best in terms of quality and qualitative education.
The Commissioner stated this in Akure while receiving the executives of Teesas Education, a pioneering and innovative Education Technology firm, committed towards transforming education across Africa through empowering learners, educators and institutions with cutting-edge digital solutions that allow access to education content via Mobile and web platforms without interest access.
The organization proposes to provide a robust self-funded educational solution that would transform the educational trajectory of Ondo State public secondary schools and has the potential to unlock significant donor funding.
Presenting the implementation plan to the Commissioner, Mr. Laolu Akindolire, the founder of the organization, Mr. Osai Izedonmwen, said Teesas EDUCATION has evolved over the years to become the only education technology firm that can implement Education transformation intervention projects at scale as evidenced by its current intervention in Edo State, Kenya and Haiti in conjunction with World Bank and UNICEF.
The core implementation strategy according to him, involves the deployment of an Education Management System (EMS), tablets for students and teachers while all lesson plans will be standardized and delivered to teachers via the EMS and their tablets.
The students will receive class materials on the tablets and continue their learning journey on the Teesas EDUCATION App through access to curriculum align videos and E-books, even when they are out school.
The Commissioner, Mr Olaolu Akindolire, who lauded the vision of the founder, Mr Osayi Izedonmwen, said the intent of the state government was to provide quality and high-tech education across the state where the learners can compete favourably with their counterparts across the globe.
“The educational philosophy of the state government is to provide robust and functional education system that will produce highly knowledgeable and high-tech resourceful learners that can stand tall among their counterparts all over the world, and our administration is ready to partner with notable and reliable organizations in this regard”
The Commissioner who noted that the programme would enhance e-learning programme and make teaching and learning easier across the state, directed that a committee be put in place immediately to study the implementability of the programme and come out with strategies for its implementation.
