OGUN GOVERNOR DAPO ABIODUN SWEARS IN NEWLY-ELECTED COUNCIL CHAIRMEN, URGES GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT
The Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun has sworn in newly elected local government Chairmen in the state with a charge to prioritise grassroots development.
The governor who commended the peaceful conduct of the residents assured that the state government would work with the twenty new council Chairmen and the vice chairmen to ensure that welfare of the people are made utmost priority.
Governor Abiodun reminded them of their sacred duty to uphold the principles of democracy and good governance at the grassroots level.
While urging them to implement impactful programs and policies that will foster socio-economic development and improve the well-being of the people they serve, the governor emphasized that they should promote peaceful co-existence which he said is a prerequisite for development.
Abiodun admonished them not to betray the trust reposed in them by the people who voted them into power.
He said their unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and service will not only strengthen democracy but also ensure sustainable progress in their respective communities.
The governor urged them to embrace proper accountability and avoid any action that could tarnish their image.
