OKITIPUPA APC LEADERS RALLY SUPPORT FOR APC AS AIYEDATIWA WELCOMES MORE OPPOSITION MEMBERS
Ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okitipupa local government area have expressed their readiness to deliver all the wards in the LG to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
At the Okitipupa APC Stakeholders meeting held at the local government secretariat on Sunday, the party leaders said Governor Aiyedatiwa remains the best option for the people of the State.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Governor, a number of prominent members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Okitipupa defected to the APC, pledging their unwavering support for the Governor.
The defectors cited their belief in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership and his vision for Ondo State as the driving force behind their decision to join the ruling party.
Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed the new members to the APC, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective efforts in the coming governorship election.
“This is a clear indication that our message of progress and development is resonating with the people. Together, we will continue to build on the foundation we have laid and take Ondo State to greater heights”, the Governor said.
The Governor also reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that the November 16 election will be free, fair, and peaceful. He urged all party members and supporters to remain vigilant and work tirelessly to secure victory at the polls.
Speaking at the event, a representative of the defectors, Niyi Adebusoye, expressed their collective confidence in the governor’s ability to continue delivering on his promises.
“We have seen the tremendous impact of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration in Okitipupa and across Ondo State. His commitment to the development of our communities and the welfare of our people has convinced us that the APC is the right platform to achieve our goals”, he said.
Earlier in his welcome address, Pastor Femi Agagu, an APC chieftain and former Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, described the defection of the PDP members as a major boost to the APC’s campaign in Okitipupa, a local government area seen as pivotal to the outcome of the gubernatorial election.
Pastor Agagu confidently assured the governor of a 100 percent victory in Okitipupa Local Government.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Commerce and Cooperative Services, Segun Ayerin, expressed the readiness of party leaders to start grassroots mobilization, assuring that the entirety of Okitipupa stands firmly behind the governor.
