OLABIMTAN REMINISCENCES AKETI
…celebrates his legacy
The chairman of Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Rt Hon. Victor Olabimtan has reminisced about the life, time and legacies of former governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu also known as Aketi. Olabimtan, in a statement he personally signed, recalled and celebrated with nostalgia the service, courage and passion of the late Senior Advocate of Nigeria not only to Ondo State, but also to humanity in general.
The statement reads in parts. “Today, we remember and celebrate an immortal, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, Aketi, a patriot that was in a class of his own. He was uniquely different in many ways and left behind an inspiring legacy for generations to cherish and emulate. He was a legal luminary, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), a consummate progressive, a statesman of note and a lover of our great Country, who loved and served God and humanity with his all.”
“His passion for the development of Ondo State and the unity of our dear nation will forever remain indelible. Death is an inevitable end for every mortal, but Aketi’s own was painfully too soon. Your demise remains an unfillable void in the life of everyone lucky enough to have crossed path with you when alive. You are sorely missed. However, your good name and work are enough consolations that you indeed served with purpose, made meaningful impact and returned to your maker at the appropriate time to take a well-deserved eternal rest.”
“Aketi was a committed, colourful, boisterous, dedicated, loyal and straightforward progressive. He faithfully served God and humanity. Thank you for your service and dedication to the well-being of our people. Your indelible marks in the education, health, governance and infrastructural development are priceless legacies for which we are all grateful. You, indeed, gave your all.”
“Your annointed successor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is riding high on the solid foundation you laid and things are getting better in fulfillment of your passionate dreams for our people.
May God continue to uphold and sustain your widow, children and the entire Akeredolu family. Olabimtan,” concluded.
