The Deji and the Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II has approved the appointment of Olu Adekunle Ajanaku fsi+, ksm as the Chairman of the 2022 edition of the Ulefunta festival.
The annual festival which had become prominent is the climax of all festivals in Akure Kingdom which unites all Akure Sons and Daughters both at home and in the diaspora to celebrate the Kingdom and also seek support for the Monarchy.
In a release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Mr. Michael Adeyeye, the appointment is based on the good track records of Olu Adekunle Ajanaku, his integrity and commitment to the progress and advancement of Akure Kingdom.
Oba Aladetoyinbo in a letter he personally signed urged the newly appointed Chairman to bring his wealth of experience to bear in improving on the achievements and successes recorded during the previous festivals.
Oba Aladetoyinbo while congratulating Olu Adekunle Ajanaku admonished him to see his appointment as a clarion call to serve Akure Kingdom and her people and a worthy recognition of his great feats.
The Ulefunta festival has now gained prominence as one of the most celebrated festivals in Ondo State.
It attracts high and mighty most especially during its lecture series which had featured Professor Kole Omotosho, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, His Eminence, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad III, the Sultan of Sokoto as well Brig. General Buba Marwa (Rtd).
There are also several side attractions of celebration of the rich culture of the Akure people during the festival.
Olu Adekunle Ajanaku is a retired Director of the Department of State Services and Special Adviser on Security and Intelligence to former Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State.
He is Currently the Olu of Agolisa, Amudipe Community in Akure kingdom.
