OLUMUYIWA ADU CHARGES SOCIO-CULTURAL ORGANISATIONS ON HUMAN AND SOCIETAL DEVELOPMENT
…As House of Friends International Patron presides over Association’s 2nd Anniversary
A leader of the All Progressives Congress and prominent indigene of Akure the Ondo State capital, Dr(Barr) Olumuyiwa Adu popularly known as ‘CUBANA’ has urged youths to create more rallying points towards facilitating Socio-economic and political development of their environment.
The APC Chieftain who was addressing members of House of Friends International at the 2nd Anniversary of the association in Akure said the task of societal development is a collective responsibility.
The philanthropist who is the Patron of the socio-cultural organisation expressed the hope of a brighter future for the group which he said is capable of influencing a better Akure and Ondo State in general.
Dr. Adu who stated that the coming together of the like-minded individuals will not only benefit members financially and socially but also confident of attending to greater responsibilities in the society.
The Akure-born legal icon who observed the quality and competence of members of House of Friends International expressed the hope that they are capable of having a positive influence on the society, especially political representation.
While appreciating the group for the recognition of making him the Patron, Dr. Adu assured that he is readily available to play significant roles in actualising the dreams of the association.
“It is a challenge to continue to do more and also being a great representative of this respected gathering as I am prepared to justify the confidence reposed in me”.
“We are in this journey together and we must not fail. Once I tell you I want to get something done, I focus on it with a target to succeed”.
“I will not disappoint you and I can assure you that we are in this together as it is time to work and we must all get set to work”.
“I foresee a situation in the nearest future when your association will be compared with what we know as Island Club in Lagos State that not only has the social link but also political influence”.
In his welcome address, the President, Comrade Abiodun Ojo said “House of Friends International comprises reputable individuals from diverse backgrounds and endeavours, strongly United for various objectives”.
In his words, “we are poised to promoting welfare of members both home and abroad and also contribute quota to development of the society”.
“We are to influence socio political climate of our immediate environment and beyond with our voices, actions and resources”.
“We are planning to start a cooperative scheme where resources will be pooled to encourage business enterprises and resolve financial challenges among members as the scheme will involve zero interest”.
“We are prepared to contribute to the lives of the less privileged, vulnerable, community, while we are open to ideas that can effect a positive change in the society”.
Chairman of the Planning committee, Mr Adeleke Adeala and other members expressed the readiness to compliment the efforts of both government and individuals.
The event was attended by prominent political leaders and business men in the state and they include the transition Chairman of Oyemekun LCDA, Hon. Ife Ologunmeta, the Lisa of Ilu-Abo, High Chief Adedeji Adegbola, Mr. Kunle Adesina, Chief Gbenga Omolere, Prince Adebisi Ariku, Mrs. Sefunmi Asekere, Chairman of Jidex Funeral Home, Mr. Olajide Oke and Hon. Soji Omojagbe.
The Akure-based musical icon, Olojuede was also on hand to entertain the gathering.
