OLUMUYIWA ADU ‘CUBANA’ HAILS TINUBU, AIYEDATIWA, OVER UNIMED TEACHING HOSPITAL’S TRANSFER TO FUTA
Dr Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu “Cubana” has expressed his delight over the transfer of UNIMED Teaching Hospital, Akure to FUTA, marking a significant drive to boost healthcare delivery in Ondo state and Nigeria as a whole.
In his statements released to the Press through his Media Council, Dr Adu said, ” I am happy with this new ownership that will obviously improve medical training of students, academic research and health care delivery with better health outcomes”.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding was performed by the Coordinating Health and Social Service Minister, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, CON and Ondo State Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Dr Olayide Adelami, mni on behalf of the State Government on Thursday, 23rd October, 2025 in Akure.
“It is also expected that, by this takeover, more funds and modernised equipment will be made available to the facility while recruitment of highly skilled medical personnel, infrastructural development and higher global ratings of the institution among other citadels of learning will be witnessed”, He stated further.
He, however, profusely appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for the accelerated approval and Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for its robust collaboration with all the concerned authorities and stakeholders.
Acknowledging the efforts of Akure Monarch, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Ogunlade Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo, CFR, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, Dr Femi Oyinsan, Senator Alasoadura, Senator Niyi Adegbonmire, Hon. Derin Adesida, MHR and other notable figures in the actualisation of this dream, he pleaded for unalloyed support of the citizens to complement the ongoing state and federal governments’ efforts to improve the standard of living of the masses.
Recall that Dr Olumuyiwa Adu had earlier donated 5 Million Naira and a trailer load of cement, among other ancillary support during the fund raising and ground breaking ceremonies for the construction of permanent site for FUTA Medical college, Akure in 2023/2024.
Dr Adu- the Akure -born philanthropist and APC Ondo Central Senatorial Hopeful promised his continued contributions to developmental projects that will have meaningful impacts on the people.
