OLUMUYIWA ADU “CUBANA” IDENTIFIES WITH INDIGENES AT MOKIN DAY CELEBRATION
…Urges More Support For President Tinubu, Governor Aiyedatiwa
…Donates 5 Million Naira to support Community Development Projects
An APC Chieftain in Ondo State and leading aspirant for Ondo Central Senatorial District Seat, Dr (Barr) Olumuyiwa Adu “Cubana” has urged the good people of Ondo State to continue their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as they steer the ship of progressive and inclusive governance in Nigeria and Ondo state respectively.
The Akure- born Philanthropist made this appeal at the 46th Ilara- Mokin Day Celebration held at Alara Of Ilara- Mokin’s palace in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State on Saturday.
Historically, with verifiable evidence, Ilara- Mokin is a settlement of early emergence.
Its progenitors moved out of Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba civilization in search of freedom, kingdom and hegemony.
Alara Onitipin, a direct descendant of Oduduwa led Ilara- Mokin team out of Ile- Ife to the first settlement called Igbo-Eko around the present Ipetu-Ijesa in Osun State hundreds of years ago while Alara
Agunsoye led the people from Egudu to settle in their sixth and final place now known and addressed as Ilara- Mokin.
In moving from one settlement to the other as directed by the Ifa Oracle through many transit camps, the town had been traditionally administered by 27 Alaras apart from the reigning monarch.
The colourful annual event which was ignited into a vibrant atmosphere of camaraderie, display of love and culture, serving as familial reconnection to unite the sons and daughters of the ancestral community, witnessed not only the attendance of dedicated members of the town who are committed to progress but also distinguished traditional rulers, political and religious leaders and
captains of Industries from formal and informal sectors among numerous important dignitaries and well wishers who came to share in the joy and festivities.
In his address as the Chairman of the Occasion, Dr Adu sermonised on the urgent imperative to support the hardworking administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
“Our President is pursuing the mandate bestowed upon him with diligence, wisdom and fairness, correcting the structural imbalances while stabilizing the economy of the country to restore national dignity, global recognition and to improve the living conditions of the masses.
He needs our support and prayers to overcome the inherited challenges.” Dr Adu charged Nigerians.
Blaming those who want to retain political relevance at all cost for the campaigns of calumny against Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa who has achieved so much within a space of less than one year as a democratically elected governor, Dr Adu advised the electorate to be united and resolute in their desire for purposeful representation at all levels.
Dr Adu informed further that, “My comments about the President and Governor Aiyedatiwa are not to attract any patronage as only God crowns at will and at the appointed time.”
“People know my stand and my unpretentious nature. My training and upbringing do not encourage sycophancy but with my unbiased assessment of the administration coupled with my previous experience at the corridor of power during the military era of President Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, I can reliably affirm that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR must take some hard decisions that will liberate us from the economic stagnation, indebtedness, insecurity embarrassing and social disequilibrium.
“As for Governor Aiyedatiwa, the quantity and the quality of his projects show his serious commitment to performance, and by appointing credible citizens for state assignments demonstrates his resolve to strengthen democracy and good governance in Ondo State.” Dr Adu affirmed.
The highlight of the occasion was the fund raising session to execute some developmental projects that are yearning for attention within the town.
Dr Adu, in his characteristic kind-heartedness made a donation of N5 million naira to support the community in its quest for an enduring self- development.
Thanking Egbe Omo Ilara-Mokin Worldwide for organising the epochal milestone, Dr Adu glowingly eulogised Alara of Ilara-Mokin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abiodun Aderemi Adefehinti, FCA, FCCA, JP for his community services and fatherly roles that have facilitated cooperation and contributions from many stakeholders to uplift the town.
“Ula is my second home, having spent some years of my youthful episode in this friendly and culturally-endowed town. I pledge my unending support for Ilara anytime the need arises” Dr Adu submitted.
According to a statement signed by his media team, the grand reception accorded Dr Olumuyiwa Adu “Cubana” during the event showcased his shining destiny and underscores his local acceptability and importance amid his acknowledged international respect and admiration.
