
OLUMUYIWA ADU “CUBANA” LAUDS FREE TECHNICAL EDUCATION POLICY OF PRESIDENT TINUBU
A frontline Aspirant for Ondo Central Senatorial District, Dr Barr. Olumuyiwa Adu popularly called “Cubana” by his admirers has applauded the declaration of free technical education in Nigeria by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
In a landmark move, the Federal Government declared technical education completely free in all Federal Technical Colleges (FTCs) across Nigeria.
Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, made the announcement in Abuja, stressing that the government will cover all costs in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The free package goes far beyond tuition — it includes boarding, uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, prospectus, ID cards, stationery, medical services, vocational charges, utilities, security, digital learning tools, extra lessons, and even insurance.
According to Alausa, the move is to guarantee equal access to education and remove financial barriers for Nigerian students.
In his Press interview, Dr Adu stated that, “The acquisition of vocational and artisanal skills will go a long way in creating job opportunities for our teeming youth and reduce the prevailing criminal activities.
“Moreso, it will boost the local content and engagements in most of our indigenous and the multinational companies” Dr Adu opinionated.
Dr Adu, however, advised the young populace to key into this people -centric opportunity that will guarantee productivity and relevance.
