OMOLEYE INAUGURATES LOCAL GOVT CAMPAIGN COORDINATORS
As preparation towards next month’s general elections gather momentum, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II, Hon Biodun Omoleye has inaugurated party faithful that will coordinate his campaign activities at the local government and Local Council Development Areas.
The former Chief of Staff to the immediate past Governor of Ekiti, while speaking at the inauguration ceremony, which took place in Aramoko-Ekiti, on Wednesday, described the Coordinators as political heavyweights in their respective Local Government Areas. He admonished them to use their political experience to attract and canvass for votes for all the candidates of the APC.
Omoleye also briefed the coordinators about the shape of his campaign structure, which he said has Hon. Dapo Kolawole as Director General, while the former Chairman of APC in the state, High Chief Jide Awe serve as Chairman, Advisory Council.
The campaign structure, according to Omoleye, also has Rt. Hon. Dapo Karounwi as Director of Strategy, Mr Dele Philips as Director of Contact and Mobilization, while Hon. Gboyega Ajayi heads the Media and Communication team.
Omoleye, while speaking further, harped on the need for the Coordinators to embark on house to house and unit to unit campaign, as well as visiting different groups like market women, artisans, transport unions, farmers, etc, to solicit votes for the party and its candidates.
“You must take the initiative and the mantle of authority given to you today to your respective domains. You should assure our people that the APC is the party to beat in the forthcoming elections”
“I have unflinching confidence in the leadership and the entire membership of the APC and its vibrant youths. I am confident that the APC will win the forthcoming elections convincingly and defeat the oppositions with unprecedented gap. The result of the election will silence the oppositions once and for all in Ekiti.”
“I urge you to ignore the shenanigans of the fifth columnists who are busy spreading fake news about me and the APC. We know them and the stuffs they are made of. They have nothing to offer than propaganda,” he said.
The APC candidate also reiterated the need for the Coordinators to make the campaign an issue based one, stressing that ‘it’s more about the people of the constituency and their collective advancement and growth.”
Also speaking, the deputy Director General, Efon LGA, Hon. Gabriel Ogundele, said the people of Efon LGA, and indeed, the entire Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II are fully ready to support Omoleye’s aspiration.
Responding on behalf of the Coordinators, Barrister Busuyi Ayorinde from Ekameta LCDA, called on his colleagues to take the work serious by embarking on aggressive mobilizations at their various local governments.
In his contribution, the coordinator for Okemesi/Ido-Ile LCDA, Mr Julius Adeleye, called on all aggrieved party members to put the past behind them and work for the victory of Omoleye and all candidates of the APC.
The Coordinators are: Barrister Busuyi Ayorinde, Ekameta LCDA, Mr Daramola Emmanuel, Ekiti West LG, Mr Julius Adeleye, Okemesi/Ido-Ile LCDA and Hon Ayo Awe, Irede LCDA. Others are, Pastor Lawrence Egbeyemi, Irewolede LCDA, Hon Biodun Dada, Ijero LG and Hon. Taiwo Akanbi, Eso-obe LCDA.
