ONDO 2024: APC LEADER SAMUEL AJAYI COMMENDS JUDICIARY OVER APPEAL COURT VICTORY
A grassroots politician from Ifedore local government area, Mr. Samuel Ajayi has commended the Appeal Court for upholding the victory of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami in the 2024 governorship election.
The Court of Appeal, sitting in Akure, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, affirmed the election.
This followed the dismissal of the appeals of some political parties against the judgment of the Ondo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal of June 4, 2025, which affirmed the election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates.
The Justices held that the appellants failed to prove their allegations against the election as they did not show how their claims affected the election in the various polling units, wards and local government areas where the election took place.
Reacting in a statement, the philanthropist, Samuel Ajayi described the development as a confirmation of the level of acceptability of the Governor and his deputy by the people of the state.
Mr. Ajayi stated that the overwhelming victory is not only historic but also a display of the love of the electorate for the candidates and the party, All Progressives Congress.
He expressed the hope that Governor Aiyedatiwa would continue to justify the confidence reposed in him, noting that numerous infrastructural interventions have proven that he means well for the state.
