The Governorship Candidate in the Nov 16 Governorship election in Ondo State, H E Agboola Alfred Ajayi and members of the Ondo PDP Gubernatorial Campaign Council yesterday paid a courtesy visit to security agencies in the state .
While welcoming the team to his office in Akure , the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Abayomi Peters Oladipo said the committee should be rest assured that Police would be professional in carrying out their duties , before , during and after the Gubernatorial election in Ondo State.
” Gone are the days when security agencies are used to rig election or intimidate politicians this time around we are going to carry out our duties in the most professional manner you can think of and I can assure you we will be out there to maintain and enforce peace as far as possible ” CP Peters maintained .
Earlier , the Gubernatorial candidate, H E Agboola Ajayi had intimated the Commissioner of Police that the PDP Gubernatorial campaign council is in his office to officially pay him a courtesy visit and admonished the Nigeria Police on the need to play their role professionally before , during and after the election stressing that all political parties must be made to play the game according to the rules so that peace can continue to thrive in Ondo State.
The Governorship Candidate however did not fail to make reference to the disturbance of PDP meeting in Ward 7 in Akure which some identified APC thugs invaded , Ajayi maintained a repeat of such as preparation for election continue could create challenges to peace in Ondo State saying “the security agencies should be on their toes to avert such occurrences as we prepared for the election proper” the PDP Governorship Candidate said .
A similar visit was paid to the office of the Commandant , Nigeria Civil Defence Corps ( NCDC) , John Oluyemi Ibiloye and the State Director of the Department of State Security Services (DSS) , Mr M S Hussein fsi both agencies also showed commitment to the maintenance of peace currently been enjoy in Ondo State and promised that everything at their disposal would be done for the people of Ondo State to continue to enjoy peace that is prevalent presently beyond the election period .
According to a statement signed by the Director of New Media of the PDP Campaign Council, Sam Ogunmusi, Some of the PDP leaders who accompanied the flag bear of the PDP on the courtesy visit round the security agencies included, Ambassador Omolade Oluwateru, former Deputy Governor, the PDP Chairman in Ondo State, Rt Hon Bakita Bello, Director General Special Duties for the campaign , Barr John Ola Mafo, Director General Operations for the campaign, Hon Clement Faboyede, Dr Bode Iwaloye, PDP leader in Ondo State, Hon Kemisola Adesanya, State Woman leader of PDP,, Mrs Tolani, State Woman leader, Northern Senatorial District, Mrs Bosede Daramola, Member, PDP Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Alhaji Fadilat Olatuji aka Sheu Agba, Director , Mobilization, Ondo South Senatorial District, Ayo Fadaka, Head, media committee of the campaign council , Mr Daodu, State youth leader of the PDP and Secretary of the PDP in Ondo State, Barr Olujimi among others .
