ONDO ACCOUNTANTS FORUM: ADEKANBI LEADS EXECUTIVE COUNCIL ON FAMILIARIZATION VISIT TO HEAD OF SERVICE
As part of efforts to create harmonious relationship and improving the saleability of Forum Members, the Chairman of Ondo State Accountants Forum has led members on a courtesy visit to the Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele.
The Chairman, Comrade Ayodele Adekanbi, after appreciating God for the preservation of life, thanked the Head of Service for the opportunity given to meet with him, considering his tight schedule and various responsibilities attached to his Office.
The Chairman used the occasion to eulogise Pastor Kayode Ogundele for his unwavering support towards the Accountants Cadre since his assumption of office.
“The support is being demonstrated inter alia,
conferment of Administrative Secretary to Forum Member, cooperation with the Permanent Secretary / Accountant General for seamless Treasury functions and workshop sponsorship of some Directors in the Treasury Office”.
In a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary, Comrade Temitope Agbeleye, the Chairman used the medium to restate the vision behind the emergence of Accountants Forum, saying it was necessitated by the need to create a vibrant forum that would protect the interest of members and to promote the values of accountancy profession in the Public Service of Ondo by being the best provider of financial services through Information Technology driven processes alongside seasoned professionals.
The Chairman, Comrade Adekanbi who regarded the HoS as a fair play personality, informed him about the annual Work Plan of the Executives and concluded his address with the following prayers to the HoS:
*Re-designation of Director of Accounts to Director of Finance and Accounts; *Improved consideration of Accountants for the position of Administrative /Permanent Secretary.
*Altering the Organogram of the Hospitals Management to accommodate the Accountant as Head of Department.
*Approving the Elongation of Graduate Executive Officers (Accounts) to GL 15.
*Checkmating the interference with the Postings of Accountants especially when issued and circulated.
In his response, Pastor Kayode Ogundele commended the Chairman, Mr Ayodele Adekanbi for being so enthusiastic and passionate about the growth of the Forum, Members Career Development and the rendering of quality Service to the State Public Service. He assured the Forum of the needed support to sustaining its vision and that the requests presented would be looked into for appropriate attention.
In her vote of thanks, the Accountant-General; Mrs. Toyin Esther Oni, FCA, who is the head of the Forum and being present in the meeting with three of her Directors, thanked the Head of Service for a robust and fruitful deliberations. Thereafter, she presented the Constitution of the Forum to the HoS and decorated him with the regalia of the Forum, which according to her , the emblem of Integrity and Quality Service.
The familiarization / courtesy tour by the Executive Members was also replicated at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Ondo State Development & Property Corporation, Ondo State High Court, Ondo State Sports Council, Ondo State House of Assembly Commission, Judicial Service Commission and Customary Court of Appeal.
