
An APC house of assembly aspirant, Mr Segun Omoyofunmi has reportedly escaped attack by unknown gunmen who shot at his car in Irele Local Government Area.
Reports had it that he was attacked on Wednesday along Ajagba-Akotogbo road while returning from a trip where he went on consultations to party leaders as regards the primary election of the party coming up tomorrow.


Segun Omoyofunmi who is popularly addressed as IBB as lovers and youth in across Irele Local Government area is one of the leading aspirants for a seat at the Ondo State House of Assembly in the 2023 general elections.
According to reports, the young politician is allegedly being victimized because he enjoys the support of most of the delegates, youth and women in Irele Local Government.
A source who wishes to remain anonymous said the opposition are secretly wooing him because of the numerous intervention programmes the people of Irele Local have been enjoying through him.
Another anonymous source alleged that Mr Segun Omoyofunmi is being trailled because of the clamour for free and fair primary and the position against imposition of candidate.
As at the time of gathering this report, the whereabouts of Mr Segun Omoyofunmi remains unknown.
In Irele, the All Progressives Congress youths are said to be planning a peaceful protest as they keep raising their voices against any form of imposition of candidates, insisting that democracy and fairness should be allowed in the party primaries.
