…As Monarch leads Oka-Oba-in-Council to join Catholic faithful at historic event
A first class Monarch and Olubaka of Oka in Akoko South West local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba(Dr) Yusuf Adebori Adeleye has congratulated the Catholic faithful and all tourists participating in the 2025 edition of the annual Oke Maria Holy Pilgrimage holding today in the ancient town of Oka Akoko,Ondo State.
In a Statement by the Palace, the revered Paramount ruler who was pioneer Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University described the sacred event as a testament to the enduring faith and devotion of the Catholic community which brings immense joy in seeing pilgrims from far and near come together in unity and prayers.
Oba Adebori Adeleye maintained that the dedication to the pilgrimage is truly inspiring and serves as a beacon of hope and spiritual renewal.
The prescribed authority and paramount ruler of Oka Akoko expressed gratitude to the Catholic Bishop of Ondo Diocese, Rt Reverend Jude Arogundade for his enviable track records and exemplary leadership in the vineyard of God.
He was particularly inspired by the unwavering commitment of the Ondo Catholic Bishop towards guiding the faithful, saying Rt Reverend Jude Arogundade’s tireless efforts and prayers have been instrumental in fostering a strong and vibrant catholic community in the Diocese.
The Olubaka also acknowledged with delight and profound appreciation the commendable efforts of the planning committee for the annual pilgrimage in the Diocese and all those involved one way or the other in the successful hosting of the annual event.
The royal father therefore prayed for safety, good health and spiritual enrichment of all participants during this year edition of the historic event.
In line with his tradition since he ascended the throne, Oba Adebori Adeleye despite being a Muslim will be leading the entire members of Oka-Oba-in-Council to join the Catholic faithful at this year’s historic event of Oke Maria Holy Pilgrimage.
