ONDO FOCAL PERSON, ADEMOSU CHARGES N-SIP MONITORS ON SERVICE DELIVERY
The Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Public and Integovernmental Relations, Dr.(Mrs) Olubunmi Ademosu has charged independent Monitors of the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme on effective monitoring of the new year school calendar.
Ademosu who is also the Focal Person of the Social Investment Programmes in the state emphasized that the school feeding programme has imparted positively on the school children as well as the cooks engaged to make the programme successful.
While appreciating the representatives of the over 100 Independent Monitors at a meeting held at her office in Akure on Monday, the Special Adviser said joy of government and the over 200,000 children benefitting is to keep recording success.
In her words, “As you are aware, you are not the only monitors as security agents are also playing significant roles. Get to the schools promptly and obtain necessary information from headteachers and the pupils to ascertain the level of commitment of the cooks”.
“Government can put in place a programme but government can not be everywhere and that’s why your roles are very important. Ensure that the eggs are not cut into two as government approved a whole egg for every child per day”, Ademosu added.
In his contribution, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Social Investment Programmes, Barr. Felix Alonge said all structures and processes have been put in place to ensure that the Independent Monitors deliver as expected.
Alonge emphasized that other projects under the Social Investment Programmes are being given the required attention as this has been responsible for the successes being recorded.
“Just few months ago, the National Office of the Conditional Grants Scheme had to mobilise other focal persons across the 36 states and the FCT to Ondo State to purposely share ideas on how Ondo implements its programmes that made them reference point”,the SSA added.
Similarly the head of the Independent Monitors, Segun Omoyofunmi harped on the need to ensure team work and also appreciated them for the high degree of cooperation in the past.
He said all hands must be on deck this year to ensure that more successes are recorded as he also charged them to create more avenues that would not only improve the performance of the programme but also sustain it.
