
ONDO INFORMATION COMMISSIONER, AKINLOSOTU CHARGES LG INFORMATION OFFICERS ON SERVICE DELIVERY
The Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu has charged information officers at the Local Government level to be more effective for better service delivery.
Speaking at a meeting with the Information Managers, Akinlosotu said the gathering was to enable him interact with them, listen to their challenges and create platforms to achieve the mandate of the Aiyedatiwa – led administration.
“The role of any Information Officer is to strategically communicate government policies accurately and effectively and disseminate them to the public. This is important as citizens must be aware of all state government policies and programmes,” he said.
Akinlosotu advised them to add value to their offices, cooperate with one another and work with the Head of the Local Council, noting that the Local Government is the closest to the people.
The commissioner said he would work with his counterpart in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to create a Department of Information in all the council areas of the state.
According to a statement signed by the Media Manager in the Ministry of Information, Timi Ogunsulire, the commissioner promised to work with the information officers and come up with various enhancement programmes that would be geared towards efficient service delivery.
