ONDO NPC FEDERAL COMMISSIONER KEMI IYANTAN SET TO MEET STAKEHOLDERS IN 18 LGAs
The Honourable Federal Commissioner for National Population Commission in Ondo State, Mrs Kemi Iyantan is set to tour the 18 local government areas of the state towards sensitising various stakeholders in preparation for a successful population census.
The Federal Commissioner who was speaking with newsmen in Akure the state capital said the need for accurate date can not be over emphasized in ensuring proper planning for the populace.
She said all structures and processes have been put in place to involve all relevant stakeholders to create the much needed awareness to ensure the success of the exercise.
The Federal Commissioner said the tour of the 18 local government areas would take her team to the Chairmen of Council Areas as well as traditional authorities who are expected to mobilise their subjects for the approaching exercise.
Mrs. Iyantan stated that the local government Chairmen would play critical roles in creating the required orientation of the people at the grassroots level while various segments of the society would be carried along.
The federal commissioner said the commission in the state is prepared to maintain a national framework, including locality list for the delineation exercise for census and sample surveys in each local government area in the state.
Iyantan stressed that the commission in the state has set in motion all the required structures for awareness and sensitisation of all and sundry to enable them realise the implications of census in national planning.
She also added that all controllers in the 18 local government areas would be engaged in the state capital in preparation for the task ahead.
