ONDO PDP GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE, AGBOOLA AJAYI PROMISES TO RECLAIM AYETORO COMMUNITY
The governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the off-circle election on November 16 election in Ondo State, Hon Agboola Ajayi, has promised reclamation of the Aiyetoro community if voted into office.
Ajayi, who was featured on community radio in the state, Awawa FM , Okitipupa on Sunday said his intervention would save the community from total extinction.
Ajayi said it is a pity that an Ilaje man is a Governor at the moment and has run short of ideas on how to protect the Aiyetoro community from total extinction, a community that is not too far from his hometown in Ilaje Local Government.
His words “I know what I can do if I become the Governor of Ondo State on that issue of Aiyetoro Community, I can drive the sea away from the community as far as two to three kilometers into the high sea, reclaim the land for them and make the people have a solid permanent town that will be safe from sea incursion.”
Ajayi said the late Governor and the architect of a modern Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, was not an Ilaje man, but to his credit today, he remained the only Governor in the state that opened up Ilaje Local Government with a road trying to take it to the sea.
According to him “We would take it up from where our late mentor stopped in pressing up with the opening up of Ilaje and our riverine area for the benefit of Ondo State people
“I have traveled far and wide, it is not magic, I have been to a town called Eagerlo in Holland, the place is just like Aiyetoro Community, they drove the sea away from the community and have a beautiful city from it, such system can be replicated here to safe our beloved Aiyetoro community and her people from going into extinction.”
Reeling out his agenda of transformation for a new and prosperous state under his watch, the former House of Representatives member said opening up Ondo State and making it an investment-friendly State would help in the rapid development, making it an industrial-friendly State for the benefit of all.
His words “Apart from free education I intend to implement from Primary School to Secondary School, I intend to turn around the fortune of the people in Ondo State by bringing up industries like Sunshine Glass Factory to replace the dead Oluwa glass factory, NIROWI in Ondo would also be resuscitated, Ondo State would also have its own Sunshine airline/ cargo airline to boost the economy of the state, tertiary institution school fees would be reduced by 30 percent.
Ajayi assured the people that under his watch, the issue of capital flight would be stopped, and our local artisans would be patronized by the government.
