
ONDO SIGNS MoU FOR CONSTRUCTION OF INTERNATIONAL TRANSIT PARK
…As Secretary to State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti assured Project would be delivered as Scheduled
Ondo State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a private organisation for the construction of International Transit Park in Igbara-Oke the headquarters of Ifedore local government area.
The project which is expected to cost three billion naira(#3,000,000,000.00) is to be situated on a total land area of 1,500 hectares.
The Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti who signed on behalf of the state government said the development is part of the determination of the Aiyedatiwa-led administration to reduce risk on the highway.
Fasoranti said the state government is committed to ensure that the project becomes a reality and would be completed as scheduled.
In his words, “apart from providing conducive environment for travellers with heavy vehicles, the project has the capacity to provide both direct and indirect jobs for teeming youths as well as service providers in the transport and social services sector.
The project is the collaboration between the state government and ELBUNS Engineering Construction Limited for the establishment, construction, finance, operation and management of the Transit Park to be located in the New Town area of the town.
Facilities to be constructed at the modern logistic infrastructure include trailer park, bus park, Motel, Sick Bay, residential estate, Police Station, Amotekun Outfit, Produce Market and fueling station.
Others are lock-up shops, office complexes, relaxation facilities and dry port with basic amenities.
