ONDO SSG, ODU JOINS FAMILY TO BID BROTHER, ADEGBENGA AKINDELE FAREWELL
People should learn to come together in love, support and care, bearing in mind that no one knows when life would end.
These were the words of the Secretary to Ondo State Government, Princess Catherine Oladunni Odu, at the funeral and thanksgiving service of her late brother, Prince Adegbenga Oluwarotimi Akindele held at Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Igbobini, Idepe, Okitipupa.
Princess Odu said “it is difficult to speak about Prince Adegbenga in the past, but the reality is that he is gone.
“He was an epitome of humility, a perfect gentleman to the core and a quiet achiever. He related well with every individual in the family and was equally very close to me”
“Since his childhood, he exhibited nothing less than kindness and generosity, never wanting people to know he did them any favour. Adegbenga was the pride of us all, his life is a song that would never end. We miss him sorely” she said.
In his sermon, Presbyterian, Very Rev. S.O Edunjobi, charged the family of the deceased and loved ones to live an impactful life, saying humans are mere visitors on this earth and their return is certain.
Speaking about the deceased, his younger sister, Princess Adetutu Akindele, in her grief statement said she was traumatized and heart broken since her brother’s transition unto higher ground.
“He was my dependable ally and great pillar of support; a part of me has been ripped off but I take solace in the fact that God has called him and shall grant him eternal rest”
His children, Atinuke Akindele and Oluwatobi Akindele in loving memories of their father expressed attributes of their father as extraordinary, saying he was a soul whose kindness and wisdom has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. They acknowledged that his memories would forever live in their hearts.
