ONDO SSG, ODU PLEDGES PARTNERSHIP WITH NAWOJ, COMMENDS ASSOCIATION FOR CHAMPIONING GENDER-BASED ISSUES
The Secretary to Ondo State Government, Princess Catherine Oladunni Odu has said that women can achieve their desired goals in as much as concerted efforts are geared towards a commited course with the hope of achieving greatness.
Princess Odu made the assertion while playing host to executive council of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Ondo state Chapter in her office.
The State Secretary while welcoming the NAWOJ executive members expressed delight over the impactful programmes and projects the association has achieved through the years.
According to her, the association has not only successfully promoted interests of Female Journalists, but thoroughly engaged in women advocacy and gender equity matters, towards a better developed State and nation at large.
Commending the NAWOJ State Executive, Princess Odu mentioned that though the team was only recently appointed, she was particularly impressed to hear about their impactful activities, especially in the areas of reaching out to children, widows and mentally-challenged persons in the state.
The Secretary assured the team of her readiness to collaborate with the Association towards propelling and empowering women to reach great heights in their various endeavors.
Earlier in her remarks, the State NAWOJ Chairperson, Mrs. Tola Gbadamosi who said the visit was necessary to show support to Princess Odu having trailed her drive and passion for women emancipation over the years, described her as a woman of foresight, noting that NAWOJ would be glad to render continued support to sustain her efforts in the State.
In similar development, a non-political group identified as “Give Women A Chance” have paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Secretary to Ondo State Government.
Pathfinder Adewale Ogunmolawa, the Convener, emphasized hard work as the bedrock of greatness, stating that Princess Odu has been a great pillar of encouragement to women-folk in the State and she serves as a role model to teeming youths on the conviction that women can explore their talents in pursuit of excellence.
