ONDO SSG OLADUNNI ODU CELEBRATES WOMEN INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
The Secretary to Ondo State Government, Princess Catherine Oladunni Odu has called on women to imbibe positive values to enhance capacity building.
Princess Odu gave this charge while speaking to newsmen in commemoration of the 2023 International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration.
Dwelling on the IWD 2023 theme: Embrace Equity, she said a woman deserves the right to fair and impartial treatment in social, cultural and political areas in life.
She noted that a woman who has risen above biases, sentiments and stigmatization deserves worthy commendation.
She further made it clear that a woman’s value should not decrease based on someone’s inability to see her worth but rather women should be constantly motivated and inspired.
The Secretary to State Government stressed that women must be courageous and view themselves as distinctive beings with powerful capabilities.
She seized the opportunity to thank Ondo state women at large for their unrelenting support and participation during the recently concluded presidential elections and encouraged more women to turn out massively in the forthcoming state assembly elections.
Princess Odu said women have the power to evoke change and thus showing representation should not only mean occupying seats of power but also implies coming out to vote the right personalities into power.
Bearing in mind the theme for IWD 2023, She enjoined Ondo state women to reflect inwards even as they celebrate and be determined to join in building a future that would stand the test of time.
