ONDO STATE ARTISANS GROUP INSTALLS DR. BUNMI ADEMOSU-WILLIAMS AS MATRON IN ONDO STATE
***As group withdraws allegation against former Special Adviser to Governor on Public and Intergenerational Relations
The Ondo State Artisan Group (OSAG) has withdrawn allegation that artisans in the state did not benefit from empowerment programmes of the Federal and State government managed by the office of the immediate past Special Adviser on Public and Intergovernmental Relations to Mr. Govenor, Dr. ‘Bunmi Ademosu-Williams.
Rising from a peace meeting held on Wednesday , 10th April, 2024 at the instance of the Senior Special Assistant to Mr. Govenor on Artisan Matter, Comrade Engr. Komolafe Daisi, the Vice President of Artisans Group, Comrade George Bamidele Omode said the allegation was based on misunderstanding by some members who did not understand what had happened in the past.
According to him, there are records that indicted some leaders in the past who were beneficiaries of projects without the knowledge of members
Dr. Bunmi Ademosu-Williams on Monday 8th April, 2024 during LACO-fs programme delivered an eye opening lecture where she encouraged artisans to organize themselves and maintain a proper data management system in order to have quality recognition in the political space of the state and the nation at large.
She had admonished artisans to imbibe the culture of electing leaders who have the interest of the association at heart other than those with personal interest who would take advantage of the office.
At the peace meeting, Dr. Ademosu- Williams highlighted some of the nasty experience she had with past leaders whom she fought hard to empower with federal government grant to construct school building, produce school uniforms and even to access federal government market money grant among many others who ended up not carrying their members along as a result of their selfish interest.
This, according to her was the crux of her lecture which was to advise artisans to forestall such in future when choosing their leaders.
“This message however was not clear to majority of the members who were ignorant of what had happened in the past hence their reaction. They even took to the social media to fly negative news”, Comrade George Banidele Omode noted saying the quick intervention of some notable leaders and millions of supporters of Mrs Ademosu- Williams who attested to her great support for artisans in the state has quenched the troubled fire.
“This matter has since been resolved in a joint meeting convened by me on 10th April, 2024 on the instance of our SSA on Artisan Matter, Comrade Engr. Daisi Komolafe to reassure her of total settlement of this matter”, he added.
To further demonstrate future partnership with the union, Dr. Bunmi Ademosu-Williams has been nominated as Matron of Artisans Group (OSAG) in Ondo State; a decision which was supported by all members during the peace meeting.
