ONDO STATE SHINE AT SOUTH WEST BESS COMPETITION IN LAGOS
Team Ondo have clinched 19 medals to finish first runners-up at the 2025 Basic Education School Sports competition for South West states, in Lagos.
The outstanding performance was spearheaded by Omobobola Ojuotimi who won gold medals in 200m Girls and 4 x 100m Mixed Relay as well as silver medals in 100m Girls and 4 x 100m Girls.
It could have been better as the gold medal won by Omobobola and her team mates in the initial 4 x 100m was withdrawn under questionable circumstances.
Hosts Lagos had collided with Osun State at the third baton exchange zone leaving Ondo to coast home ahead of Ogun and Oyo.
Surprisingly, Lagos Athletics Referees called for a rerun which the hosts eventually won with Ondo coming second.

Additionally, Precious Sunday earned herself a brand-new pair of spike shoes from a Track and Field lover Olabanji Ayegbusi.
