ONDO YOUNG AUTHOR, SEMILORE DARE-ATUNSE UNVEILS BOOK TITLED “A’S AND FOOTBALL”

Miss Semilore Dare-Atunse, a talented young writer, on Saturday, December 7, 2024, unveiled her first novel, titled “A’s and Football,” in a historic accomplishment of her long-term dream of becoming an author, at an event that brought together dignitaries from various walks of life.
The book launch, held at the Alumni hall of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA brought together dignitaries from various walks of life , who commended her creativity and determination to impact the society through art.
Notable personalities in attendance include Professor Dayo Afe of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko; Mr. Adeolu Gboyega, General Manager of Crest FM; Pastor Victor Adebusuyi and his wife, Mrs. Toyin Adebusuyi, among others.
“Ais and Football”, a 300-page novel released in 2024, is tailored for teenagers, focusing on guiding them in their academic pursuits and inspiring them to believe in their dreams. The book emphasizes the importance of resilience and determination in achieving life goals.
In his welcome address, Pastor Ayo Adebayo commended the author for her vision and dedication to producing an impactful literary work.
He urged parents to purchase copies of the novel for their children, highlighting its potential to shape their future positively.
“It will be a huge benefit for your children if you get a copy. This novel will play a significant role in their lives and future endeavors,” Pastor Adebayo stated.
Miss Atunse, while addressing the audience, expressed her gratitude to her parents for their unwavering support. She encouraged young people to dream big and remain persistent in achieving their aspirations.
“I am so happy to see everyone here to celebrate this milestone with me. Dream big, work towards your dreams, and never relent. Keep pushing forward,” she said.
The author revealed that her passion for writing began during her school years, despite being a science student rather than an arts student. She urged parents to support their children’s visions and aspirations.
According to her, copies of “A’s and Football” are available for purchase, with proceeds aimed at empowering and inspiring the next generation.
The father of the author, Mr. Dare Atunse, also thanked attendees for their presence, expressing his excitement and pride in his daughter’s accomplishment.
The event was a celebration of talent and a call to action for young people to chase their dreams with determination and focus.
