ONDO YOUTH COMMISSIONER OMOYOFUNMI EARNS UK RESEARCH DEGREE
The Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Segun Omoyofunmi, has obtained a Master of Research degree from York St John University, United Kingdom.
Omoyofunmi, a political strategist and youth mobiliser, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, describing the academic feat as part of his commitment to personal development and improved public service.
The commissioner, who hails from Ode-Irele in Ondo State, has held several roles across different levels of governance, focusing on youth engagement and community development.
He previously served as Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Mobilisation, where he coordinated grassroots campaigns, community outreach and public engagement for the administration.
Omoyofunmi also worked as Special Assistant on Political Matters to the Minister of State for Transportation, Ademola Adegoroye, and held positions including Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress in Irele Local Government and Minority Leader of the Ondo State Youth Parliament.
In addition, he served as Special Assistant on Youth Affairs under the National Social Investment Programme, where he promoted youth participation in government initiatives and advocated social intervention programmes.
An alumnus of the University of Ibadan, Omoyofunmi holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Extension and Community Development from the University of Ilorin.
He also obtained National Diploma and Higher National Diploma certificates from the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, where he served as President of the Students’ Union Government.
Speaking on his latest academic achievement, the commissioner expressed appreciation to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his support and encouragement, noting that the governor’s role contributed significantly to his success.
