Ondo@50 and Citizens’ Demand for Project Commissioning
The Ondo State Government has taken note of the comments, anxieties, and public calls for project commissioning as part of activities to mark the Golden Jubilee of the creation of Ondo State.
While some of these commentaries are politically motivated, many stem from the genuine concerns of well-meaning citizens who simply desire to be informed about the progress and development of our dear Sunshine State.
In this regard, it is important to inform the general public that Ondo State has two major milestone events scheduled for February 2026. The first is February 3, 2026, which marks the 50th Anniversary of the creation of Ondo State. The second is February 24, 2026, which marks one year in office of Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as the 7th democratically elected Governor of Ondo State.
The Golden Jubilee celebration provides a solemn and historic opportunity for the State to give thanks to God Almighty for His faithfulness over the past five decades, honour the sacrifices and labour of our heroes—past and present—and, most importantly, reflect on our journey while setting a clear agenda for the future.
The February 24, 2026 first-year anniversary of the Governor’s administration will, however, be dedicated to the commissioning of completed projects. To this end, several monumental projects across the State have been identified and lined up for commissioning as part of the anniversary activities.
The good people of Ondo State are therefore encouraged to actively participate in these landmark events.
