…As Book Titled “King You Should Know” Unveiled In Ile-Ife
Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba race, came alive on Saturday, February 28, 2026, as the children book titled: “King You Should Know” was unveiled at the Ife Youth Sports Development Programme 2026, themed “Raising Champions, Inspiring the Future.”
The ceremony was presided over by His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II whose royal presence underscored the cultural and generational importance of the occasion.
The Ondo Central Senatorial Aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Olumuyiwa Adu “Cubana” served as the Chief Launcher, reinforcing his reputation as a committed advocate of youth empowerment and humanitarian service through his characteristic generous interventions.
Supported by Light Up Africa and Ife Grand Resort, the programme blended sports, leadership, and education to inspire young people.
The highlights of the event included presentation of Certificate of Leadership to Dr. Adu for his exemplary mentorship and the unveiling of the book written by teenage author Emmanuel Adegeye, the book celebrates the Ooni’s leadership rooted in virtue, cultural pride, and strategic investment in youth portraying him as a fatherly and visionary monarch.
“I always admired Ooni during my visits to the palace in company with my parents. This gingered my interest in researching his life, achievements and fatherly styles,” the young Adegeye recollected.
The attendance of Traditional rulers, politicians, youth advocates and community leaders affirmed a shared commitment to raising disciplined and future-ready champions by the relevant stakeholders.
The book launch evoked emotions, inspiration and love. It was more than a gathering of personalities; it was a statement of vision—where royalty, sports, and literature unite to shape the next generation.
Praising the organisers for giving the children the platform to showcase their talents, Dr. Adu who dedicated the award to Ooni Of Ife, promised to encourage broader participation in future events to enlarge the scope of the project and draw more local and international attention to its cardinal objectives.
