The family of late foremost educationist and community leader, Dr. Akin Akeju has rolled out the programmes put together for the home-going of the Ado-Ekiti born legal icon. special night of lecture and tributes has been slated for Adetiloye Hall located in the premises of Fountain Hotel in Ado-Ekiti.

The programme is expected to feature five guest speakers who would reflect on the place of education and its impact in the country at large.
The theme of the lecture is “Education and National Development”.
The topic was chosen having realised the role Dr. Akin Akeju played in shaping future generations as his interventions would continue to be a reference point in educational planning in the country.
Dr. Simeon Akinsola Akeju was an illustrious alumnus of Emmanuel Anglican Primary School Ado Ekiti from 1939-1947.
Though his primary school education started at Baptist Primary School, Ado Ekiti , he later got transferred to Emmanuel school Ado Ekiti from 1939-1947.
His exceptional qualities must have stood out , for just a year later , he taught at Emmanuel School in 1948. He was just sixteen years old then.
He later moved to the prestigious Christ School, Ado Ekiti ( 1949-1952). Again based on his exceptional brilliance , he was admitted straight to Form 3 .
He was the senior perfect of the school in 1952.
Dr. Simeon Akinsola Akeju was a dedicated believer in higher education. He attended The University College, Ibadan(University of Ibadan where he got a B.Sc(London) Honours Degree in Chemistry in 1959.
After his higher education, he returned to Christ School, Ado-Ekiti as the first graduate teacher who taught chemistry between 1959 and 1963.
Dr. Akeju ranks amongst the great flagbearers and beacons that made people in the nation refer to Ekiti as the fountain of knowledge.
