
No fewer than 100 communities are benefitting from the execution of solar street lights in the three senatorial districts in Ondo state , SouthWest Nigeria.
According to the Special Adviser to Governor Akeredolu on Public and Intergovernmental Relations, Dr. (Mrs) Olubunmi Ademosu, it is in implementation of the targets and goals of the agency for the second quarter as propelled by the executive council retreat held in Owo at the inception of the second term of the Akeredolu administration.
Ademosu explained that the government targeted markets that operate at night as well as schools for the vulnerable and juvenile remand homes.
The special adviser said projects are being carried out and completed in areas which include Ebute-Iparen and Igbokoda in Ilaje local government area as well as Auje and Ajue in Odigbo local government area.


The programme being carried out by Ondo state and federal government is also being implemented at Oja- Oshodi, Oritagun, Odokoyi and Isolo in Akure South local government area.
In her words, “we have carried out similar intervention at school for the hearing-impaired in Akure, children’s home in Owo while that of Cocoa Board in Oda would soon be commissioned.


She said the decision to execute the projects was facilitated by the observation of the plight of the traders who have always relied on ancient illumination process to operate at the markets.
” We were at the Cocoa Board during the campaigns and by the time it was dark, we had to use our phone light and Governor Akeredolu gave instruction that the project should be carried out. That is what we are witnessing today”, the special adviser maintained.
Ademosu said primary health care centers in Ifira-Akoko, Ikare-Akoko, Ogbagi-Akoko, Igbotu in Ese Do local government area Imeri in Ose local government area and Igbara-oke in Ifedore local government area are being implemented.
