PA AYO ADEBANJO WAS A MAN OF PROFOUND INTEGRITY – OCHIAGHA REAGAN UFOMBA
The National Convenor of ‘The Nigerian Project’, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba has mourned the demise of a leader of Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo.
News of the exit of the icon of democracy was made public on Friday by family sources.
The Convenor who expressed sadness over the loss of the foremost promoter of true federalism described Pa Adebanjo as a venerable leader and elderstatesman.
According to a statement personally signed by Ufomba, Pa Adebanjo was a man of profound integrity and wisdom, lawyer, nationalist, and advocate for good governance.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Pa Ayo Adebanjo, a venerable leader and elder statesman, who departed from us on February 14, 2025, at the age of 96”.
“Pa Adebanjo’s life was characterised by dedication to justice, democracy, and the betterment of Nigeria. As a co-founder and leader of Afenifere, he championed the principles of true federalism and tirelessly advocated for the rights and unity of the Yoruba people and the nation at large”.
“His commitment to these ideals has left an indelible mark on our political landscape”.
“Beyond his political endeavours, Pa Adebanjo was a man of profound integrity and wisdom, lawyer, nationalist, and advocate for good governance”.
“In this time of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who were touched by his remarkable life. May we find solace in the legacy he leaves behind and strive to uphold the values he so passionately defended”, the statement added.
