POLICE ARREST MAN WHO SCAMMED AKURE WINE SHOP THROUGH FAKE PHONE CALL
…He had escaped with goods and cash worth #140,000 but was apprehended after CCTV recording was posted on social media
Police have arrested a young man who allegedly scammed owners of a wine shop through a fake phone call and went away with goods and cash worth #145,000.
A woman suspected to be the shop owner had posted on the Facebook wall of Akure Sons and Daughters to make the incident public while also posted the CCTV recording and pictures of the young man.
The incident reportedly occured at the wine shop located at Dele Akinwalere street near Dejavu Hotel at Alagbaka in Akure the Ondo State capital.
The suspect was said to have made fake phone call to a woman who spoke with the sales girl which led to further discussions which included request for cash to be refunded.
The young man was said to have cajoled the sales girl who ended up being a victim of circumstances.
He reportedly went away with 45, 000 naira cash, 2 black barrel Jameson and 2 hollandia yoghurt, all totalling 140,000 naira.
Meanwhile, Naija Parrots have gathered that men of the Ondo State police command had arrested the suspect.
Our reporter gathered that someone identified him after his picture was posted a d took the shop owner, Motunrayo Omole to his house.
He was not met at home but after some tracking, he was apprehended.
