
POLITICAL REALIGNMENT AS AKOKO PDP LEADER ALABA AROHUNMOLASE PITCHES TENT WITH APC
t was a political realignment and projection ahead forthcoming elections in Akoko North West Local Government Area and Ondo State as Prince Alaba Arohunmolase, a former PDP Chairman spearheaded a major defection with no fewer than 300 supporters to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The strategic move is expected to reshape the political landscape of the area as the 2027 general elections approach.
Prince Arohunmolase, who served as PDP Chairman for ten years was described as respected figure in Akoko North West LGA politics.
His defection along with his supporters from the PDP, Labour Party, and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marked a significant realignment of political allegiance in the area, signaling growing confidence in the APC’s vision and leadership.
The defection of Arohunmolase and his followers was facilitated by the Hon. Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo whose dynamic leadership and personal engagement played a pivotal role.
The ceremony was graced by prominent APC leaders, including State Chairman Engr Ade Adetimehin, Akoko North West Local Government Party Chairman, Hon. Kehinde Obanla, Hon. Muyiwa Asagunla, and other party leaders.o
Commissioner for Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, Hon. Ayodele Akande who represented Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted the state government’s support for the political alignment and development agenda.
